How does this work?
Fill out the form with what you'd like me to make a comic about, and hit
the paypal button. Then I will make you a comic! Each custom comic strip
costs twenty dollars. That is the gist of it.
How long will this take?
It depends on how many orders I get! My goal is to finish a comic within
a couple days of it being ordered. If you need a comic by a certain date,
let me know in the form above. When you order I'll respond with an e-mail
telling you how long I think it'll take.
What does the basic fee get me?
You get a single page comic. I am only doing digital comics for orders right
now, because we haven't tested Mexico's postal service yet. so: you will
be e-mailed a low-res file for monitor-type display, and a high res file
if you want to print it or resize it to any resolution you might want.
Who will be writing and drawing this comic?
John Campbell, who is me. I make very simple comics. You can check out some
examples here. they will be done in similar style to my weekdaily webcomic,
pictures for sad children.
Is there anything you won't draw?
Well, I am not really an illustrator, so anything fancy will get simplified.
I can't draw anything sexy, so if you want a comic with Kirk making out
with Starbuck and c3po I will probably just make a comic making fun of
you.
What is the deal with rights?
For custom comic strips, you have non-exclusive rights to the comic, so you
can e-mail it or print it up and post it around or put it in your non-profit
organization's newsletter, or whatever you like. You can't, however, print
copies and sell them, or print them on t-shirts you sell, or use it as
the cover for an album you sell, etc etc. Basically: These are for personal
non-profit use only and if you want to hire me to work on something you
will make money off of, contact me. If you're not sure if what you want
falls under this, just e-mail me and ask. Getting something for yourself
or a friend that you're never gonna make money off of is clearly a-ok!
What if I'm interested in something that isn't mentioned or offered here?
If you want to give me money in exchange for me doing something, drop me
a line, I'll see what I can do.
Why do you draw people with circles for heads? is there
something wrong with you? I'm sorry.
That is okay! I do it on purpose, because it seems to work best for me. There
is also probably something wrong with me.
